Pandora

Last christmas, my best friend got a Pandora bracelet and became obsessed with it - literally! I didn't understand at first what was so thrilling about it, but then a few months later I noticed I was wanting to have one too. So my mom came up with the idea of getting one for my 21st birthday and to have my friends & family each buy me a charm. So now that I have had my bracelet for a few months, I realize how special it is to me. Each charm is from someone I care about and holds a special memory. Sometimes people say charm bracelets are a cliche but I love mine and wear it every day.

Obviously you can tell I live near the ocean and love it!
PS... I have a scooter that looks just like my charm - perfection!

Do you have a Pandora bracelet?

Back to School

My life has been insane lately including summer finals & GRE studying! I can not believe August has already crept up on us & it's time to get shopping for back to school. Hello senior year of college.
With all the school supplies out on the shelves, I get anxious & want to buy all my supplies now but of course syllabus' typically don't get posted until the first day of class. Over the last few years I have figured out a system that works best for me to keep all my assignments & notes straight...

Lilly Pulitzer Agenda: I got my first one sophomore year of college & literally the best investment. I always get a large so I have plenty of room to write down all my assignments, test dates & extra cirricular activities. I usually take 18 hours a semester which gets pretty hectic, so I color code each class so when I quickly flip through, I just look for the color coordinating with the class for an easy find (I love using the Penmate Flair Pens!).

5 Star Flex Hybrid Notebook: I used to have one folder & one notebook for all my classes which worked for me but my business professor told me to try another system to organize a bit better. So I went with the flex which is a notebook & binder in one. You can fold over the flex like a notebook to take notes & pull it apart to put notes in different dividers, pretty cool if I say so myself! I love color though so I ordered a Lilly monogram to put on top & it's perfection. You can always use a monogram ;)

Pens/Pencils: I love writing in pen & oddly enough love pens you get from businesses, those just seem to write better for me. But on occasion, I do use pencils for exams & anytime math is involved but I like mechanical pencils. I typically use the BIC ones (especially in pink) & even have a lucky pencil my friend gave me which everytime I use it, I do well on exams!

iPad: Some classes want you to bring a laptop so you can follow along with the power points or in my case practice excel spreadsheets. I have a 15" laptop & it's a bit heavy to carry around all the time. So a few years ago for christmas I got an iPad mini, it has been my life saver. It is easier to carry around because it fits in my purse, plus has all the programs I need for classes. I have a bluetooth keyboard I sometimes bring too incase I need to type faster to take notes.

Booties for Fall

As much as I love summer, I love getting new back to school clothes. Weird to think this may be my last year of ever saying that (unless I continue on with Grad school). In all the catalogs I have gotten in the mail recently, everyone is wearing booties. I got some short black boots last year, but this fall I definitely have my eye on brown booties like the ones T.Swift has on in this picture (what a coincidence, I adore her & she has the booties I want HAH!).

I have been browsing a few websites but haven't seen any I like that are in my price range or my size (struggles of having a big foot).
Any booties you love or suggest getting? Comment please :)

Kendra Scott

Have you been on Tumblr lately? My whole feed is basically Lilly, Jacks, ocean, beach, & Kendra Scott. She recently just popped up on my radar so I started looking into her collection. Celebrities have been wearing her jewelry such as Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff, Giuliana Rancic & many more. Her jewelry definitely makes a statement with all the fun designs & colors, but I personally love how you can wear it from day to night.
I just purchased my first pair of Kendra Scott earrings in black which were also labeled as a celebrity favorite. I decided to go with black so I could wear them with a majority of my wardrobe & when I entered the professional world. I can't wait to wear them this fall to look stylish going into my senior year!

Would you consider getting Kendra Scott earrings?

Bad Weeks

All of us have had those weeks where they just seem to drag on & nothing good or positive seems to happen. Well that has been my life for the past few weeks but definitely this week. I learned though that you can't back down & have to fight through it.
Unfortunately, in this world we have negative people who are unhappy with their lives & try to bring you down with them. They are cruel & unhappy, but even though with these bad experiences, we get stronger. We get stronger because we are happy with our lives such as having a loving family, blessed with a group of friends & lucky enough to have an education to get a high paying job in the future.
Even though this week has brought me a lot of heartache, plenty of tears, & many sleepless nights, I have really been counting my blessings. During tough times you really see who your real friends & family are, the best thing you can do during these weeks of think of the positive things.
It's never okay to be unhappy, but I'm always wanting a quick fix to put a smile on my face even if it is only for 5 minutes.

What I do in case of a bad day/week:
1) Starbucks run: get out of the house & get a coffee, it is always good to get moving to get your brain flowing to think of something positive.
2) Yoga: I do not do yoga often but when I do, I always feel so rejuvenated after. For that one hour, all I think about is what I am supposed to be doing & not any of my problems. Even a bonus if it is yoga on the beach :)
3) Watch your favorite movie: I was lucky last weekend because Harry Potter Weekend was on ABC Family (love)! Watching a movie always gives me a laugh or two & definitely a break from reality. I'm definitely considering watching pitch perfect tonight!
4) Pinterest: time to online shop without actually purchasing anything (unless you HAVE to have it). I have been known for being an impulse buyer but ever since Pinterest came around, I pin something & most of the time I come back later and unpin it or decide I didn't like it as much as I thought.
5) Take a nap: with all the sleepless nights & thinking, I really exhaust myself! Taking a quick nap in the afternoon will really rejuvenate you & give you the rest you need.

Now always remember, bad things happen to everyone, so you are definitely not in this alone! Keep your chin up & everything will be okay :)

PS.. A quick trip to the beach never hurt either

Stella & Dot

A good friend of mine is a stylist for Stella & Dot. I had never heard of Stella & Dot before she became a stylist, but she invited me to check out their website. They have a lot of trendy accessories & jewelry at a reasonable price. I've gotten the arrow bangle, arrow ring, earrings, necklaces, and more!
I had a trunk sale with them this past April where a percentage of the money went towards Autism, which is what my brother is diagnosed with. It was a neat way for people to donate money & get a beautiful piece of jewlery in return. This was my first time hosting a trunk sale & it went better then expected!
They recently started selling engravable jewelry & of course I had to get something. I always liked the necklace Kim Kardashian wears with Nori's name on it. So I got a bar necklace with my name engraved on it just like Nori! Perfect for layering necklaces like I did in the photo!
Stella & Dot has definitely been a gold mine for me & if you need connected with a stylist, let me know!

Potterhead Weekend

Hello childhood!
I can remember the first time I ever heard about Harry Potter, I was in preschool and my best friend read Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. He told me all about it (trust me, he was a genius then and a genius now as he studies at Harvard!), who can read a novel in preschool, really? But I fell in love with the magical story.
I'm a really slow reader, so I am not into reading much or at all. I attempted to read the series a few times but I got annoyed at how long it took me. BUT I have seen each movie about 50 times, have them all on DVD & Box DVD.
The first Harry Potter movie came out when I was in 4th grade & I saw it in theaters with my mom & grandfather. I remember how frightened I was but also how intrigued.
Every halloween from then on, my preschool buddy dressed up as Harry Potter (they looked like twins) and every christmas we exchanged Harry Potter gifts. My favorite was the Hermione action figure ;)
Every time it is a Harry Potter Weekend on ABC Family, I definitely dedicate my weekend to watching it.
I have been itching to go see Harry Potter World at Universal but haven't found the time nor people to go with, definitely on my bucket list though!
Did I mention JK Rowling has a website called Pottermore where she writes updates of the characters?!
Don't forget to tune into Pottermore Weekend on ABC Family!

One of my favorite scenes, go Hermione!!!

Have any of you been to the new Harry Potter World?!

Hanky Panky xx Lilly Pulitzer

Did anyone else see the big announcement on Instagram today? Hanky Panky & Lilly Pulitzer are doing a collaboration!! I am honestly so excited. I truly love the company Hanky Panky as I have been shopping there since high school & as we all know my love for Lilly Pulitzer already.
They said the collection is coming out Fall 2014, right before the Holiday season. Could not have been more of a perfect time. I know what is already at the top of my Holiday Gift List..
Is it too early to start my Christmas list? I mean it is only 169 days away haha!

What do you think about the new collection?

PLL100

What is the best day of the week? Obviously Tuesdays!! Even though I had midterms today, looking forward to the 100th episode of PLL got me through it. I have watched every single episode of PLL at least two times. I have been an avid viewer since the first episode in 2010 & have not missed a first run of an episode yet.
Tonight was the 100th episode of PLL (crazy how long & how much I have been watching this show) and it was absolutley insane. Warning spoilers ahead!!

Can I first talk about major shipping night for all the girls: Emison, Ezria, Spoby & Haleb (sorry Travis, but I think Caleb is here to stay)! I love Ezria because I think they have a real connection & seem to just understand each other. I am surprised at how fast Aria forgave Ezra after the book incident, but they both know they're sole mates, and really how could you stay mad at a good looking guy like Ezra? Also I am a big Haleb shipper because I love Caleb. Honestly, I am still salty about Ravenswood being cancelled because I want to know what happened to the curse & all, but at this point we probably won't ever know...
Alison is changing or not? After that video, I doubt it. She is going back to her old ways trying the be the Queen Bee of Rosewood once again. Finally what Ali told Emily when she pulled her out of the barn forever ago: "you were the one I missed the most." Unfortunately, I don't think Alison has the same feelings as Emily does & is just trying to get back in good with all the girls again. We see she is still lying, lets see what other tricks Ali has up her sleeve.
A is back!! Is anyone really surprised? Really, what would PLL be without -A. Right now I still think there are two different teams: -A team & Mona's Army. It will be interesting to see what the two Anti-Ali groups are up to this season.
Speaking of -A...BOOM!!

Questions?
Who is Bethany Young? Well we know she is from Radley & thats it for now.. Is she someones twin or was she involved with Toby mom's death?
Is Toby alive? Have you watched the preview for next week, we see Toby run for his house after the explosion yet another explosion happens! Hope he is okay!
Does Caleb & Alison have a past? Did anyone else see that look Caleb & Ali gave each other when they were all in Emily's house? Totally had some sort of a past, otherwise Alison should have been confused to who Caleb was because to our knowledge, they have never met.

What are your thoughts about this weeks episode & the new poster?

Happy 4th of July!

Thank you to everyone who has served for our country.
Growing up in the Midwest, the 4th was always a big ordeal with parades & street fairs! The south is no different. Last night they had a kickoff celebration with bands, street vendors & the best fireworks I have ever seen. I usually hate big crowds of people but I didn't mind at all, it was so much fun!
This morning we had a golf cart parade where everyone decorated their golf carts in red, white & blue. It was a lot of fun to see all the different decorations, secretly I think mine was the best!

Notice my red, white & blue pocket tank :)

Tonight we are hosting a neighborhood picnic & going to watch fireworks on the beach! I've always wanted to do that but it will be hard to beat last nights fireworks.
What are your plans for the fourth?

H&M

I used to love shopping at Forever 21 for clothes, I started buying all my clothes there in high school but now I do not shop there as much. I guess it is because I am too conservative for their clothing, booty shorts & cropped shirts? No thank you.
As you will learn I am a Taylor Swift fan by heart (& bound together by name!), & recently she has been wearing so much H&M while looking so classy & fashionable. For months I have been browsing their website which you can now order from online and it is stylish clothing for a reasonable price. Bonus, they just opened a H&M over the weekend where I live & it was insane. People were coming from out of state just to see the H&M, plus they even had a DJ playing opening weekend. I went Saturday & could not even walk around so I left. Then I snuck out yesterday hoping it was less crowded & it was.
Honestly they have good clothing, a lot of basic pieces which is always needed but their professional section... OH MY GOODNESS! I have been thinking a lot about having to go into the work force soon and worried about all the above including work clothes. They have suit pants for $40, tops for $25, and suit jackets for $35. My one friend just paid $250+ for a suit to wear to interviews, good bye to that idea & hello H&M.
I will most likely be buying my clothes from H&M for now on, only dislike I have is some of their sizing is European sizing which confuses me dearly. Oh well, guess I will have to learn.
Welcome H&M :)

Bad Week?

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you think it couldn't get any worse but then it does?
Well that is how my week is going. First I ordered some shorts from Lilly Pulitzer so I could get the adorable GWP necklace, well they apparently "ran out," so they sent me a dang koozie. Hmm lets see, would I rather have $100 necklace or $6 koozie (I don't even use koozies). I emailed them with how upset I was & Lilly Pulitzer customer service could care less. If only Lilly saw, she would be rolling in her grave at the disappointment of her company.
Then I woke up Wednesday morning to my alarm, looked at the screen & it looked cracked. I tried pushing the home button but nothing happened & the screen was not cracked. So basically the phone died in my hand, so I was phoneless. Luckily my Dad is awesome & said he would pay for a new one.. Funny thing, my iPhone was exactly 1 year & 8 months today, coincidence? Like it was on a set timer.
Then it took my 2 HOURS TO GET HOME!!! I get that is 4th of July weekend & when you live in a resort area it gets busy, but that is ridiculous.
Then we had a parade this morning for the 4th of July & some man (60 years old) stole poor Hunter's flag, terrible to steal from a special needs kid.
Let's hope this streak ends ASAP & some good vibes come my way. They always say do good for someone else & that will make up for the bad.

Vintage Lilly

All day I have been trying to figure out which post I wanted to put up until this (plus I haven't had the greatest week). I waited to get the mail until really late tonight (like 8 pm) and there was a package for me. I knew I didn't have anything I ordered out for delivery & there was no return address. Skeptical, I opened it up to find a vintage Lilly top with white tags & BONUS it was in my size too. I have always wanted an original Lilly top but have never seemed lucky enough to come across one, especially in my size! Did I mentioned it's scalloped at the bottom?!!
The note inside was from a family friend that said: "I saw this & thought of you. I hope this goes perfectly with your Lilly collection."
This is going to be the showcase of my Lilly collection, I am still in awe over it! I was literally in tears when I pulled out the top & realized what it was.
Dreams really do come true & good things happen to good people!

PS.. What are the odds I just posted my Lilly collection post yesterday? #coincidence

Lilly Closet

I have been in love with Lilly since high school & officially bought my first dress the summer before freshman year of college. It was the Esmeralda Dress with the anchor print (#neverforgetyourfirst).
Since then I have invested in Lilly & my friends joke that I'm obsessed. I buy some of my pieces through Rue La La and others though the signature store. Here is a peek at some of my Lilly collection from over the years.

The Summer Slush

My favorite summer treat is ice cream & I'm seriously an addict. Any opportunity there is to get ice cream, I'm on it! I recently had my first ice cream slush from Sonic & fell in Iove.
My aunt sent me a gift in the mail the other day & it was a few zoku cups. They turn any drink (diet coke, lemonade, cranberry juice) into a slushy or any milk product into ice cream! Literally the coolest invention, all you have to do is keep the cups in the freezer & take them out to stir in your drink. Honestly so perfect for the summer & even when you go outside in the heat your slushy stays cold & doesn't melt!
I've been trying all different kinds of combinations but my favorite is the Starbucks mocha I got in the dairy isle of the grocery store. The cups turn it into a mocha frapp which is my favorite starbucks drink!
Now I can make my own ice cream slushy at home, hello summertime :)

Pocket Tanks

Everyone loves pocket tanks, guilty! I happened to stumble upon the perfect summer tank on Etsy that you can design yourself, which makes it even better. You get to pick your Lilly pocket design (there are tons of options), then pick a color of the tank to match the pocket & you can even monogram on the tank! So you can pick out any thread color that you think will look good with your Lilly print. Prices vary but they are very reasonable & have a great turnaround time. I got one made for the 4th of July which will be perfect to wear & a florida print pocket.
If you are looking for comfy & chic, this is a great summer option!

Rue La La Sale

Fantastic sales happening today on Rue La La..
Tory Burch, Jack Rogers, Lilly Pulitzers
Do I need to say more?

PS.. This is where I get a lot of my designer items on sale, like my first pair of Jacks & Lilly dresses!

Snail Mail

Technology has really enhanced the way of communication when I was growing up. I remember in elementary school all my friends & I used to have AIM where we would get on right after school & it was all about who had the coolest bio with different fonts & colors. Then in middle school, we all got Xanga's (does that even still exist?) and everyone posted on each others pages etc. Then when I turned 13 all of my friends got cell phones & it was texting from here on out.
One thing my mom & dad always had me do even with the growth of technology was to hand write notes. Mostly thank you notes but I never knew why because none of my friends ever wrote me one. I used to fuss about it growing up, how it was a waste of time but now I realize how personal a note in the mail can be with different stationary & everyone loves to get snail mail because no one gets letters in the mail anymore.
One friend actually just got a note from me in the mail & it was her first letter at her new home. She texted me right away & said "I just got your card in the mail, omg you just made my day!!"
I need to spruce up my stationary so here are some of my stationary picks & wants.

World Cup

I don't usually watch a lot of soccer but I enjoy watching the World Cup. I wouldn't say I personally have a favorite team but I of course root for USA & this year Brazil too. My Uncle has been going to Brazil a lot for work & was awesome enough to get me a couple World Cup shirts from his last visit. One of the shirts is a Brazil shirt so I will be wearing it tomorrow during their game! FYI tonight USA plays at 6 pm EST time.
What team are you rooting for during the World Cup?

Favorites of the Week

Jack Rogers Jellies: I have always been obsessed with jelly shoes ever since I was little. They are just so comfortable & in my opinion so cool. I remember jelly flats were really in my freshman year of high school & I had three pairs that I wore all the time. This summer Jacks have come out with the jelly version of Jack Rogers & I'm in love! They're half the price of regular Jacks & so comfortable!!

Bow Baseball Cap: I love wearing baseball caps in the summer because I can just jump out of the pool, put a hat on & look somewhat put together. I'm obsessed with this bow in the back & arrows on the front is perfection! I need to get one before football season, Go Noles!

Arrow Jewelry: Speaking of arrows, I love how they're in right now. I have a few pieces of arrow jewelry I have collected over the last few months. I have a arrow bracelet & arrow ring I got from Stella & Dot that are pieces you can wear with everything. Also, the necklace is my newest piece & I wear it almost everyday (from local jeweler)!

Summer Reading

Taking summer classes, it is hard to sit down & actually enjoy a book. School really burns me out of reading so I don't read often. I've been on Tumblr a lot lately & have seen lots of pictures of the book To All The Boys I've Loved Before. I decided to pick it up at Barnes & Noble because it seemed so popular and I couldn't put it down! I rarely run into a book I can finish within a day but this was just my type of book, if you love rom coms this is definitely a must read for you summer reading list.

The story is about a girl named Lara Jean who writes a letter to each boy she has ever 'loved' before but just writes them for herself to get her feelings out. These letters were never meant to be sent out but somehow do, so the entire book is about Lara Jean trying to deal with these boys knowing how she truly feels about them. She truly gets herself in a predicament with this sticky situation. On top of all of this, Lara Jean is having to deal with the typical High School & family drama.

The author Jenny Han just announced that she is working on the second book that is due out next spring, pretty sure that will be my summer 2015 reading book :)

Summer Blonde

Summer blonde is my favorite hair color of the entire year, with tan skin your hair just looks phenomenal. I have been highlighting my hair forever but with the recent move & new hairdresser there are different opinions. I like to be 'blonder' but my hairstylist didn't want to fry my hair so I have been rocking a dirty blonde look until I found this... John Frieda Sheer Blonde, if I had to explain it in two words they would be miracle worker.

It is a shampoo & conditioner combo that enhances your highlights & really make them vibrant like you just came out of the salon. I saw this posted on the Beauty Department with Lauren Conrad & decided to give it a try. It can be purchased at Ulta for $5.99 & I was shockingly surprised how inexpensive it was. Being skeptical, I tried it anyway & the results were amazing. After one wash & condition my hair came out with highlights more vibrant and hair more blonde, exactly what I have been wanting!! Goodbye dull & flat hair!

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner

Oily Skin + Summertime

I love summertime and everything about it except one thing... the constant oily skin. I don't wear much makeup in the summer because of this reason but sometimes you just have to put some on to look somewhat alive. Since I try to let my face breath during the summer, I don't wear much but here is what I use that keeps my face oil free & has SPF!

Clarisonic: My Aunt bought me this almost two years ago because everyone was using it & loved it. I was skeptical because my face was so oily but decided to give it a try and let me tell you, it's amazing. Ever since I have started using Clarisonic, my face has never been so clear. I wash my face every morning & night but the cool thing is you can get different brush heads depending on your skin type (I use the acne brush).

EstÄ—e Lauder Perfectly Clean: I actually bought this on accident when I was at the makeup counter but boy am I glad I did. You can either use it daily as a cleanse, or twice a week as a mask (I use it as a mask). I really cleans the pores of your skin & makes it feel brand new within 3 minutes.

Nutrugena Healthy Skin Primer: I like to use primer because it helps my skin not get so oily throughout the day & I don't have to change my makeup. It has a little tint to it to give your skin a glowing color but also has SPF to protect your face from harmful rays.

bareMinerals Correcting Concealer: I have always had really dark circles under my eyes, even when I was a kid. So I have been experimenting with different concealers to see what covers those dark circles up the best! I came across this one at Ulta & it works like a charm. Perfect for dark circles & blemishes plus diminishes the appearance of dark spots and discoloration over time. Has SPF too, winner winner!

OOTD

Yes, I did just use a hashtag for the title of this post, but it fit the occasion. It is definitely feeling like summer today with the temperatures to the mid & high 90s and the ocean clear as day! We decided to venture out into the public (insane here in the summer with all the tourists around) to do some shopping & lunch. What better way to get around the island then by scooter, this is the main way I travel because it is cost efficient & environmentally friendly :) I got the scooter about 6 months ago & have already put 1,000 miles on it! Least to say I love it & its FSU colors (bonus!).

Hello summertime & scooter riding :)

Lilly Accessories

Every girl has their go to accessories & I definitely have my fair share of Lilly ones. They are essential for school and life in general. Take a peak at some of my everyday accessories I am currently obsessed with.

Introducing Me

Hey there! I'm Taylor, a college student in Florida who is finishing up her bachelors degree in the next year. I have accepted the challenge of taking care of my severly austistic brother in the future when my parents can't care for him anymore. I want to eventually own my own business so I can work around my brothers needs & schedule.
I'm a girl who enjoys sunshine, Lilly Pulitzer, & pink. I enjoy looking at fashion & accessories while putting together outfits for a day of errands, school, or a girls night out. I will be blogging about styles I feel will enhance the college student to the young executive. This is the stage of life I am in now so can easily relate. Together we can enjoy the fashion journey!

Here is a catch up of some of my Lilly attire...
